News from the garden

The St Michael’s garden has been closed to the public during lockdown but a core team of Faiths4Change staff are still working there, keeping our plants growing. We’ve had some bumper harvests of fresh organic vegetables and herbs which have all been donated to the Micah Liverpool foodbank at our sister church St Bride’s.

We have been donating fresh salad, greens and herbs every week and more recently broad beans, onions, radish and beetroot equaling a total of over 40kg of fresh, organic, produce so far - with much more to come as we enter the growing season.

Lettuce > 6.5KG
Spinach > 500g
Chard > 100g
Onions > 7KG
Radish > 300g
Broad Beans > 900g
Herbs > 1.5KG

The market value of the produce equates to over £150 of fresh organic locally grown food donated directly to the food bank - Micah collects as soon as we have picked it so the food is as fresh as it could possibly be!
